Team and Program Building: Fostering Collaboration Among Staff
Nancy Toso206
Working together as a team is essential to providing quality early education and care. We will explore how to foster collaboration and teamwork among staff to generate shared engagement and investment in our program. You will discover how to create a positive, strengths-based environment that supports individual passions and talents, as well as how to facilitate effective communication among staff. We will also examine the many roles of early childhood educators and how these contribute to quality programs for children and families.
Nancy received her B.S. and MEd. from the University of Massachusetts. She began her early childhood career in Amherst, MA where she was a toddler/preschool teacher, Director of a small center, and then an owner/Director of her own center, and where she worked with early childhood colleagues to establish the Western Massachusetts affiliate of NAEYC. When she moved to the Boston area in 1984 she directed an infant-toddler center, then helped start a Resource and Referral agency. She has spent the last 30+ years developing and presenting professional development in a variety of settings, locally and nationally. Nancy currently runs her own training business, providing professional development, coaching and consulting services to the early childhood community. She is on the Board of the Massachusetts Association for the Education of Young Children, and an adjunct faculty member at Wheelock College and the Northeast Montessori Institute.
