Association for Early Learning Leaders Selects 2014 Director of the Year Award Winner

AUSTIN, Texas — April 25, 2014 — The Association for Early Learning Leaders is pleased to recognize Robin Moore, Director of Robin’s Nest Learning Center in Creal Springs, IL, as the 2014 Director of the Year. Moore was acknowledged at the Gala luncheon at the 30th Annual National Conference: How Successful Directors Lead, in Lake Buena Vista, FL.

The annual Director of the Year Award recognizes outstanding leadership in early care and education in a Director who:  

• Exhibits an understanding of current early childhood research,
• Implements best business practices,
• Designs creative projects and activities for family involvement,
• Encourages staff to continue professional growth and formal education,
• Involves staff in program planning and goal setting, and
• Contributes to community efforts.

Moore is recognized for her commitment to and love for children.  Moore’s center sets goals to meet children’s individual needs for the best quality of care. She explains, “Everything we do must ensure the safety and well-being of the children we are entrusted to daily by the families we serve. I tell my staff everyday—we have the single most important job in the world—we are shaping the future, one child at a time.”

Robin’s Nest Learning Center also value the involvement of families. She and her staff involve families of the center in many activities, including monthly field trips, classroom parties, graduations, book fairs, holiday shows and school-age summer events.

Moore was chosen as a finalist among candidates from the home states of Florida and Tennessee.
